Well, I did it at A level outside of school A levels as my school did not do it. I really only did it because a friend was (bad reason) and then saw how much I loved it. I then chose to do my elective modules (like free choice modules) at uni in psychology. I actually went to uni to do English Lit. I changed quickly as I realised that I loved psychology and wasn’t enjoying my course. I just love the breadth of the content at uni (you cover so many areas) and the ability to conduct research and mini projects. It’s so fascinating and there is so much you can do with it.

My school didn’t offer psychology so I was never exposed to it early in life. I came it later. I think my prior interest in occult topics foreshadowed my interest in it, as did my interest in artificial intelligence when I studied Computer Science.

For me it was the element of self-understanding. The best module I studied was titled ‘Social Psychology: Critical Perspectives on self and others’ which I think sums it up.
