Inputting data! When we get participants to fill in a questionnaire, we have to input all of their answers into an excel spreadsheet. My last study I had to input 32 answers for 813 participants – that’s over 26,000 pieces of data to input.
This time, I’m trying to get schools to use an online questionnaire.
Admin, admin and more admin. I am fine with it and really organised but we do have to do a lot of it these days. I don’t transcribe any more (write down what is said in interviews) but I have done this and it takes so long and is arduous. But, I am glad that I did it in my PhD as it is an important experience and really does help you to get to know the data.
