Hmmm, I am not sure it is fear but I think sometimes it can be hard to know where to start with things that are so complex. It’s certainly a very popular topic at the moment and for good reason. We know that more and more students are universities (my background) are arriving with mental health issues and making use of student support services. It’s becoming an even bigger issue than it ever has been across all ages (young children to adults).

I actually think that there is more research about mentla health than there has been in the past which is great. We do have a long way to go and you have identified a really important focus Mari.

Historically there was a stigma against those with physical health, but society is a lot better now in that regard (not perfect). Sadly there is still a stigma about mental health. I don’t think it’s fear, so much as not understanding it.

We all have mental health, in the same way we all have physical health.
