      Another good question. I am a health psychologist so we tend to adopt something called the biopsychosocial model to think about health. I don’t know how much you know about this but this really focuses on thinking about health in terms of biology, psychology and social factors. So going beyond just thinking about biological factors as causes of disease (e.g. genetic explanations) but realising that how we feel (e.g. if we are stressed) can impact on how well people do int erms of treatment for particular conditions like breast cancer. We also think about the social factors in terms of the role of others and things like culture, the types of areas people live in and access to education.

      I’ve been using an experimental approach; setting up an experiment, gathering data, and analysing the results with statistics (t tests).
