I am a health psychologist so tend to come from a biopsychosocial perspective. So I could not just say biological or behavioural but would think about health from the perspective of considering the impact of all three factors. To me, you can’t just focus on the role of biology as that rules out the importance of psychological factors (e.g. how we make sense of health and our thoughts about it). Equally we need to think about social factors such as the role of other people (social support) and things like the types of areas we live in and the access we have to education etc. Culture of course too. That’s a long winded answer but that would be my approach.

Critical psychology now denies the construction of nature vs nuture. Consider this:
      – suppose we have a bag of mixed seeds, each with different plant dna (their nature).
      – suppose we take a 2 random handfuls and drop each one into different soul. (their nuture)
      – different plants will thrive in different soil, because they are suited to it.

The plants that do best then is not determined by either nature or nuture as separate concepts, but by the interactions between the two. Thus, constructing them as separate is a fallacy.

From more recent research I have let that it has suggested that there’s both nature and nurture and it’s the combination of two. One of my favourite approaches and psychology is humanistic because it sees the person as a whole
